It took me four days to do it, but today I finished baking the 300 cookies I need for the gala I’m helping out with! I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off of me as I’ve felt a little like a robot for the past few days as the process to get these cookies done was very repetitive.
This is just step 1 in the process for these cookies. Next week I will be icing the cookies and then writing on them the following week. All to be done in time for the annual HTC Gala.
When I first took on this project, I don’t really think I realized how great of an experience it would be. I’ve learned how to schedule out my time properly in order to bake 6 dozen cookies a day for four days straight. There were a few bumps along the way, but that’s expected. Although it’s somewhat stressful right now to think how much more I have to do in order to get these cookies done, I do believe that I will feel a sense of accomplishment and pride when it’s all done. To be able to make 300 cookies by myself for a big event for an amazing organization is a great thing to be a part of.
While I’m not doing any of these projects for money or to be recognized in any way, it’s a great way to experience what baking school and my future will be like. I’m just glad that everyone has enjoyed what I’ve done so far and have gotten amazing feedback from family and friends. To know that what I am passionate about is enjoyed by people close to me, and others, is a fantastic feeling!
