About Us
I am a graduate of the Baking & Pastry Arts Management program at George Brown College. I also completed 2.5 years of the Bachelor of Business Administration program at Wilfrid Laurier University. With this combined education, it has helped me start this small home-based baking business, Sweet Serendipity!
A lot of people ask me how I came up with the name. The movie Serendipity is one of my favourites. It has nothing to do with baking but the premise of the movie and what the word means has always stuck with me. Serendipity means a “fortunate happenstance”, something that is a pleasant surprise. So when I was coming up with ideas for a name I thought about this word and how I could make it relate to baking. For me, naming it Sweet Serendipity made sense. I have always dreamed of opening up my own bakery/cafe in the future so with this name people will come in and be pleasantly surprised to learn that we are more than just a bake shop!
